Jefferson Starship has been exploring the mysteries of music for over a thousand collective years—give or take. One of the most successful arena rock bands of the '70s and '80s, they’ve earned 3 platinum and 8 gold records, along with numerous Top 40 hits.
The band’s origins trace back to 1970 when Paul Kantner released Blows Against the Empire under the name "Paul Kantner/Jefferson Starship." By 1974, Jefferson Starship officially took flight, featuring a powerhouse lineup that included Kantner, Grace Slick, Marty Balin, and others. Throughout the decades, the band evolved through lineup changes, delivering iconic albums like Red Octopus, Spitfire, and Freedom at Point Zero, with hits such as Miracles, Jane, and Find Your Way Back.
Though Jefferson Starship briefly disbanded in 1985, Kantner revived the name in 1992, keeping the band’s spirit alive. Today, Jefferson Starship continues to tour, with founding member David Freiberg leading a lineup that honors the band’s rich legacy while bringing its timeless music to new generations.
