The Hawaii Theatre Center and Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation are happy to announce our first ever Kupuna Movie Evening. Join us as we celebrate the season with the holiday classic ‘White Christmas.’ Directed by Michael Curtiz, the 1954 Technicolor musical ‘White Christmas’ stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. It features a new version of Irving Berlin’s title song, which was originally sung by Crosby in the 1942 film ‘Holiday Inn.’ ‘White Christmas’ was the first movie to be shot in the VistaVision widescreen format, and it went on to become the highest grossing film of 1954. In addition to the complimentary coffee and other refreshments our Kupuna Movie Morning regulars have come to enjoy, for this special Kupuna Movie Evening we will also be offering full bar service featuring seasonal cocktails. Come dressed in your best white ensembles for discounts on drinks at the bar. Kupuna Movies are a joint project of the Hawaii Theatre Center and the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation. We are pleased to offer the community a film series providing seniors and other cinema lovers an opportunity to enjoy a morning of camaraderie with coffee, snacks, and a classic movie. Over the course of the year, we’ll present this series and offer tickets on a “pay what you can” basis.
